Protect against tropical storms, flash floods and hurricanes
Heavy rain brought disruption and flooding across the UK, November 2015. Riverbanks burst causing a surge of water through areas surrounding North Leeds. Along the River Aire in the centre of Leeds, HESCO JACKBOX was deployed as part of the Leeds Flood Alleviation Project (FAS).
BAM Nuttall project managed the deployment using JACKBOX as a temporary flood defense solution to protect their long-term construction.
In a few hours the project was complete.
FAS is considered to be one of the largest river flood defense projects in the UK. Plans include major construction along the River Aire in the City of Leeds along the train lines. JACKBOX is being used as a temporary flood barrier while plans for permanent weirs are implemented.
