Breast Cancer Campaign

31st October 2008, HESCO factory, Leeds

The staff at HESCO Bastion donned pink outfits last Friday in order to support the nation-wide ‘Wear It Pink’ campaign. Organised by the UK’s Breast Cancer Campaign, Wear It Pink aims to raise awareness of breast cancer and generate donations for this worthwhile charity.

Staff wore at least one item of pink throughout the day, raising £1,000 for Breast Cancer Campaign as well as raising quite a few eyebrows!

AUSA 2008 (Association of the US Army)

6-8th October 2008, Washington D.C, USA

HESCO Bastion Ltd was a major exhibitor at the 2008 Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Annual Meeting and Exposition. The event took place in Washington DC, USA, and was billed as America's largest land-power forum. AUSA is that brings together active, guard and reserve forces of the US Army, giving HESCO access to project planners and end-users of its products - all in one venue.

As usual, HESCO built 'Jimi's Bar' - a bar built from HESCO Concertainer® units, designed to look like a bar on a military camp in the middle of Iraq or Afghanistan. The bar is decorated by HESCO customers, as everyone is encouraged to 'sign the bar' in return for a free beer. As a consequence, the bar carries the signatures and messages of everyone from Private to Four Star Generals. All meet at Jimi's Bar to learn a little bit more about HESCO products, and relax a little. It is often cited as the' busiest place at AUSA!'

In addition to informing visitors about HESCO products, the staff on the stand also collected over $2,300 of tips, which were again donated to the Army Emergency Relief (AER) fund. This is the third year the HESCO staff have organised the collection, and every year the generosity of visitors to the stand is much appreciated.
