HESCO Photo Competition Winner 2008

Due to circumstances beyond our control, the previously selected winner of this year's Photo Competition has been withdrawn. The judges have selected a new winner, SSG Jason Pickett, 103rd ENG Battalion of the US Army.

SSG Pickett was delighted to be told he'd won, and on receiving the news said;

"The Photo was taken In Mosul Iraq after a long Day of filling Hescos everyone needed a break.

Hesco's were our life for the last 15 months. Day and night we stretched and filled them from Baghdad to Mosul and every where in between. I have a soldier that even wrote a song and made a video about them (Hesco's of Freedom). I have more photos with Hescos in them than soldiers. It is unbelievable that I was chosen and can’t wait to feel the summer wind in my face... “
