HESCO USA defends Washington State from flood threat
WASHINGTON STATE – HESCO Bastion USA are preparing major flood defense walls, some up to 16 feet in height, to protect a number of residential and business districts in the state. Infrastructure is also threatened, and with both the Green River and White River water levels rising, HESCO Bastion USA's Concertainer barriers are being used extensively to counter a very real flood threat in the area.

Increasingly favored over traditional sandbags, HESCO Bastion USA's innovative Concertainer barriers are being used extensively on a number of projects in the north of the state and around Seattle. King County, Auburn and The City of Pacific have already benefited from the extensive installations being completed.

HESCO Bastion USA's technical representatives are on the ground working with local contractors and authorities to ensure the state is prepared should the worst happen, averting a repeat of the problems faced in January 2009.

Fast Facts About HESCO:
A typical wall of HESCO Concertainer units - equivalent to approximately 1500 sandbags - can be erected and installed by two people, using a standard front loader, in just 20 minutes. A similar sandbag wall would take ten workers roughly seven hours to erect.

The innovative HESCO Concertainer system consists of linked welded mesh cells lined with geotextile. The units are flat-packed, transported to flood zones on pallets, and erected on-site easily in a matter of minutes. The units are then machine-filled with aggregate (dirt, sand) to form a robust defense wall.

HESCO Concertainers were installed to protect a critical I-wall located along the Industrial Canal in New Orleans during Hurricane Gustav. This location was one of the most vulnerable sections of the entire New Orleans flood protection system.

HESCO Concertainer units have been widely and successfully used to protect our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Walls built from the units have also been used to protect hospitals, guard posts and embassies.
