Concertainer® Gabions and Concertainer® Bastions with front inserts are ideal for mass gravity retaining walls. They are designed to resist earth and pressure created behind the wall without overturning or sliding failure.

HESCO Concertainer Units can be altered during manufacturing. For this application, the standard geo-textile fabric is replaced with “Agent-X”, a product made by C I Agent. This unique fabric contains polymers that solidify hydrocarbon on contact. Whether a tank farm levee is desired or a check dam is needed, the HESCO Concertainer Units can provide a barrier that will stop and contain fuel spills.

Weakened soils sometimes call for stabilization when time is a factor. HESCO Concertainer® units are manufactured in 15’ sections, reducing excessive labor often associated with construction. HESCO Concertainer® units are stackable in an array of configurations to accommodate the existing terrain and provide containment solutions for mass gravity applications.
HESCO Concertainer units placed at the base of a river bank can help stabilize the eroding soil slope. Concertainer units can be used to deflect currents during times of seasonal high river stages or can be used as an every-day solution to your erosion problems.

HESCO Concertainer® units can be manufactured to allow a continuous flow of contained fill – from one cell to the next. This design makes for an excellent, prefabricated concrete form. Rebar and other engineered product may be added to accommodate project needs.

Culverts have been utilized for thousands of years as a means to transmit water under walkways or roads. Often, a culvert is simply installed without much thought to how downward pressure from above can result in infill movement and eventual blockage or failure of the culvert.
Using Concertainer units to provide additional stability to the end faces of the culvert decreases the possibility of infill movement and requires less maitenence than other methods. Units can be stone faced to improve the aesthetic.

Major potential cost savings are associated with using Concertainer units for bridge abutments. Abridge abutment constructed using Concertainer units can be constructed in a relatively short time using light construction equipment and simple techniques. Heavy equipment such as cranes, drilling equipment, and pile driving machinery are not required. The use of local labor and small equipment, combined with a quick construction time generally results in a significant savings in construction costs.
Using Concertainer units to create bridge abutments can also be more aesthetically pleasing to the public when compared to cast-in-place reinforced concrete bridge abutments.

Often, the surplus soil created by construction means it is often cheaper to construct an earth filled noise abatement barrier than to haul away the surplus dirt. Concertainer units can be filled with this surplus material to create effective noise abatement barriers. In addition to protecting sensitive land areas from noise pollution, Concertainer units can provide a more visually acceptable solution than other methods, such as concrete slabs.
Concertainer units can be used to create barriers to reduce noise in areas such as airports, highways, sports venues, and industrial or commercial areas.
